Gardens Best Blocks

Wembley Square is ultra-conveniently located just around the corner from the Roeland Street off-ramp - a 2 minute drive from Garden's Shopping Centre. The block emanates "Google Campus" energies as it draws inspiration from the tech giant's Play, Work, Live environments. It's an entire precinct that has changed the face of how people and property interact in the trendy east side of Cape Town's City Centre.

  • Cannon Gardens

Cannon Gardens is an elegant block with modern styling, yet classic foundations. Beautiful views, convenient location, and inner-city coolness permeate the block. Cannon Gardens features amenities not easily found elsewhere in City Bowl like state-of-the-art security, underground parking, rooftop swimming pool and much more.

Gardens Lifestyle

  • Home to The Company's Gardens (otherwise known as the Dutch East India Company's Gardens), this suburb is true to its name. As the original breadbasket for the Cape Colony, the Company's Gardens is a lush green space famous for cute squirrels, and the South African National Gallery.
  • The Labia Theatre is an institution in Cape Town, offering a uniquely flavoured escape from mainstream cinema in an historical setting. Originally an Italian embassy ballroom, the building is today home to around four silver screens and is a mecca for cinephiles from across the Cape.
  • The Nelson's Eye Restaurant promises the best steak in Cape Town - a promise they've been making since the early sixties when they opened. Their uniquely aged steaks are bsated, not marinated, meaning they prefer to focus on quality of ingredients in their kitchen. They come highly recommended.
  • Garden's Planetarium (aka Iziko Planetarium and Digital Dome) is where art, entertainment, and science coalesce! The planetarium provides a phenomenal learning experience for the whole family.
  • De Waal Park is a heritage site and green space bordering Gardens and Oranjezicht. The park has been open to the public since 1895 after it was procured from the Van Breda family - owners of the former Oranjezicht farm. The park is home to thousands of trees and is great for jogging, and doggy play dates.

Gardens Shopping

Gardens is well served for shopping with Gardens Shopping Centre. Anchored by Pick n' Pay plus Woolworths, it's a great place for keeping the pantry stocked. With coffee shops, restaurants, clothing stores, barbers, and beauty salons - you'll be spoiled for retail therapy too.

Gardens Weather

Gardens, much like the entirety of the City Bowl, is well sheltered from South Easterly winds thanks to its position in relation to Table Mountain. This area also enjoys late sunsets year round but especially in summer with brilliant red oceans as late as 8 o'clock.

Gardens Healthcare

Healthcare services are well served in Gardens! Mediclinic Cape Town is just across the street from De Waal Park, Booth Memorial Hospital in neighbouring Oranjezicht, and the Netcare Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital provides acute care. Exceptional dentists, general practitioners, and physiotherapists can also be found in Gardens.

Gardens Schools & Education

Mara House in Gardens is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to pedagogy whereby children are self-guided in experiential learning as opposed to put on rails in a strict curriculum.
